Bridging the connectivity gap in the groundbreaking era of the World Wide Web was, in 1995, my first moonshot. Fast forward 30 years, and the dream of space-based broadband is now a reality we are harnessing to solve global connectivity at scale.

My involvement as an early investor in trailblazers like SpaceX and Lynk marks a thrilling full-circle moment. These ventures are revolutionizing internet access, enabling broadband connectivity unbounded by ground infrastructure limitations, and making global connectivity a tangible reality.

This progress echoes my initial steps in the digital world, where as one of the young  winners of the GII Junior Summit, I connected with luminaries like Nicholas Negroponte of the MIT Media Lab.

His mentorship not only shaped my appreciation for technology’s potential to solve grand challenges but also paved the way for my journey to U.S. citizenship.

In 1995, amidst the infancy of the World Wide Web, the European Commission hosted a G7 roundtable on the Global Information Society, and the GII Junior Summit was stood-up – a platform for youth to explore the burgeoning digital world’s possibilities. At 17, I joined over 500 peers from across the globe in this digital dialogue, culminating in a summit in Tokyo where we, the youth, took center stage. Government officials and industry leaders listened as we shared our vision of a world united not by geography, but by technology and shared ideals.

Returning to France, I was driven to spread the potential of the World Wide Web to French youth. With support from key figures like Jack Fujieda and Isao Okawa, Chairman of SEGA, I established the first Internet club in a French high school, laying the groundwork for a digital revolution. The 1998 Junior Summit expanded this vision, enabling participants from over 100 countries to establish Internet clubs in their own communities.

This journey solidified my belief in the power of moonshots – ambitious, transformative projects that inspire and accelerate change. Today, my involvement with the XPRIZE Foundation allows me to continue championing this ethos, fostering innovation and envisioning brighter, more connected futures.

This is the spirit that guides my path, a testament to the limitless potential when we dare to dream and turn WHAT IF into WHAT IS.
