I am deeply committed to expanding opportunities and supporting the next generation in moving glass ceilings ever upward.

My personal endeavors focus on supporting women in Finance and promoting STEM.

Women in Finance

In 2003, five years after my debut in finance, Warren Buffett congratulated me on my election as president of the Harvard Business School Alpha Hedge Fund. I started my professional journey in the late 1990s at Goldman Sachs, renowned for its commitment to fostering talent. After completing an MBA at Harvard Business School, I held senior investment positions at TPG Axon and Renaissance Technologies. Then, in 2008, fueled by a vision of transformative change, I founded my investment firm.

Recognized as a “Rising Star” by Institutional Investor in 2010, my career has been dedicated to blazing a trail for other women in finance, an industry where our presence is scarce but our potential limitless. Despite positive trends, such as women constituting over 25% of Goldman Sachs’ new partners, the representation of women in finance, particularly in investment management, remains critically low.

An investment firm’s success is quantified by financial metrics and how they do for their investors —and it’s noteworthy that funds managed by women often exhibit strong performance. However, success for emerging managers involves overcoming significant challenges, such as the daunting asset thresholds set by institutional investors. These challenges are formidable for any new fund manager, but are particularly acute for women.

I take pride in having taken a stand against the underrepresentation of women in fund management, launching my investment firm, successfully navigating the 2008 financial crisis, and mentoring emerging talent. My story is a testament to the remarkable achievements women can make when given the opportunity. Let’s continue to break barriers and champion broader women participation!

STEM For All

As a proud board member of the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath), I support our mission to inspire math exploration and discovery – an endeavor I hope you will join! The disparity in STEM proficiency and participation is more than an educational issue: it’s a national concern. And with only a fraction of low-income students achieving proficiency in pivotal subjects like 8th grade math, the call to action is clear.

MoMath’s role in this, as the only Math museum in the nation, is pivotal. Our mission is simple yet profound: to unveil the beauty and wonder of math. MoMath is more than a museum – it’s a catalyst for change breaking down barriers in STEM, especially for children from Title I schools and young girls. Since 2012, we’ve welcomed over a million visitors, including a quarter-million students, and our traveling exhibits have travelled worldwide. Join us on this exciting journey to inspire math exploration and discovery by supporting MoMath, at momath.org/contribute or shop.momath.org.
